Who are Kinesiologists?

Kinesiologists are human movement specialists who are University educated. They design and implement exercise programs which are based on in-depth postural analysis, functional movement screens, and strength/flexibility assessments. Kinesiology is not just rehabilitative, but preventative and promotes general wellness.

Kinesiology places a strong emphasis on prevention and movement enhancement. Kinesiologists utilize exercise to improve movement in order to achieve a better quality of life for individuals. Proper diet and exercise not only help in recovering from injury, but can also help prevent the development of many diseases such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes and many other common conditions.

What to Expect

Your initial appointment will be approx. 60mins long. Things that we will look at during the appointment include: health history, posture screen, strength and flexibility through functional testing.

Please wear loose fitting clothing that allow you to move comfortably. Shorts that can be rolled above the knee, and tanks that allow visibility of the shoulders and neck are preferred.

Follow up appointments run anywhere from 45-60mins, approximately. During this appointment you will go through a series of exercises, programmed specifically for you based on what was see during the initial appointment. Exercises may include stretching, strengthening, stability or mobility exercise. Each tailored program is designed based on the areas of improvement seen during the assessment and are specific to YOU and your abilities.
