Kelowna Registered Massage Therapist :: Ron Mayne

About Ron

Ron graduated from the three year West Coast College of Massage Therapy program in 2008 where he graduated as class valedictorian and was awarded the Joe Kosac Memorial Award.

He has recently moved to Kelowna from Langley where he practiced in a private clinic and at the Trinity Western University Athletic Therapy Clinic treating their varsity athletes. Ron has worked previously as a therapist for the Vancouver Whitecaps and has studied Kinesiology and Human Physiology at SFU. His background in athletics and nutrition gives him an excellent base to treat sport and orthopaedic injuries.

His community involvement has included coaching elite youth soccer teams and being active in the triathlon community. He has been an avid endurance athlete competing in many marathons,  ultra-marathons and triathlons including two Ironman Canada events.

Ron’s philosophy

“I know that when your body isn’t in top shape that your entire outlook on life can be affected. I believe massage therapy is the cornerstone of any comprehensive and holistic health program. When we can get your body moving as it is intended to then life can be easier. By making massage therapy a part of your plan you are well on your way to living a life that’s active and healthy.”

Ron’s intense training has given him a well-rounded education in all the body systems and a very extensive study of anatomy, physiology, clinical sciences, orthopaedic assessment, manual techniques and massage therapy. He enjoys treating a wide variety of patient conditions and developing home-care and patient education to bring the patient back to optimal health.

Ron uses many techniques but is well known for his deep tissue treatments. An important part of his treatment is myofascial release to help restore movement and balance to the body.  Active and Soft Tissue Release techniques are also incorporated into treatment. Ron is a certified practitioner of the Graston Technique.
